For this new Collection, Pascale Faure and Brigitte Pardo, Pour cette nouvelle Collection, écrire pour...,
from Canal+ Short Programmes, with a little help from literary critic and journalist Augustin Trapenard, had the idea of approaching five very different writers and asking them for their take on hitting thirty. Each writer’s task was to write and direct a fifteen-minute short film dealing with the subject in any way they saw fit. Hélèna Villovitch, Chloé Delaume, Maxime Chattam, Simon Liberati (with Eva Ionesco) and Oxmo Puccino took a certain pleasure in diving into the exercise and giving life to their singular and personal works. For most, but not all, it was their first foray into filmmaking. And as is the case every year with Canal+’s carte blanche programme, each of the writers was assisted by a dedicated film producer. Using humor, mischief, dreams and on occasion violence and frivolity, these films create an unexpected image of our thirties, one that is often pessimistic and even cruel. They invite us to reflect on the times we live in. The programme will be preceded by the screening of an interview of the filmmakers by Augustin Trapenard (directed by Francois Choquene, Mad milk production).
The Collection is supported by SACEM, Pôle image Haute-Normandie, Critics’ Week. It is distributed by Premium Films. Coordination by Jean-François Lacoux.
Pascale Faure et Brigitte Pardo des Courts et créations Canal+, aiguillées par Augustin Trapenard, ont sollicité cinq écrivains aux univers très différents afin de leur proposer d’illustrer
à leur sauce le thème de la trentaine dans des courts métrages de 15 minutes écrits et réalisés par leurs soins.
Avec un plaisir certain, Hélèna Villovitch, Chloé Delaume, Maxime Chattam, Simon Liberati (avec Eva Ionesco)
et Oxmo Puccino s’approprient l’exercice et donnent vie à des œuvres singulières et personnelles.
Pour la plupart, il s’agit d’une première au cinéma, pour d’autres, d’un retour au court et,
comme chaque année, cette carte blanche
est accompagnée par 5 producteurs impliqués dans cette aventure.
Utilisant l’humour, la malice, l’onirisme, et parfois la violence ou la légèreté, ces films donnent une image de la trentaine inattendue, souvent pessimiste, voire cruelle.
Ils invitent à une réflexion sur notre temps.
Le programme sera précédé par la projection d’une interview des réalisateurs par Augustin Trapenard
(réalisation Francois Choquene, Mad milk production).
La Collection est soutenue par la SACEM,
le Pôle image Haute-Normandie, la Semaine de la critique, et est distribuée par Premium Films.
La coordination est assurée par Jean-François Lacoux.
